Here's another family favorite traditional drink.

I've always looked forward to this time of the year not only for Christmas but for the food and this comfort drink that I love so much.  At the age of about 12 (I think), I remember watching one of my relatives making this and I just had to know how it was made.  So I watched her and tried to understand the process and ingredients, but of course I didn't write any of it down and forgot.  Recently I asked one of my aunts (my Tia Olga) how to make it because I had been craving it and she gladly told me with detail.  I couldn't go without sharing this with you because it isn't the same as American hot chocolate.  It's thicker, smoother, sweet yet nowhere near the flavor of powdered hot chocolate,  it's a different type of chocolate, and it's filling.  It will surely warm your belly :)

Confession...I am addicted to coffee.  Believe it or not there was a time when I used to hate the smell of coffee.  It wasn’t until I started going to college that I became the coffee addict that I am today.  I am pretty picky about how I like my coffee.  Don’t get me wrong though because I will drink day-old coffee if that were my last resort to cure a massive coffee withdrawl.  Not the best thing in the world, and my least favorite thing to do, but what can I say, I love coffee.  One of my favorite ways to drink coffee is to have one cup of FRESH BREWED cinnamon coffee with about 2oz half & half and a tbsp of ground piloncillo (an unrefined dark brown cane sugar).  I Love it!  If you have never had cinnamon brewed with your coffee or have tried to use piloncillo, you should try it (only if you like cinnamon tea of course).  It’s simple.
